Watch My GPS - Overview
Watch My GPS provides near real time tracking of GPS units. We allow users to broadcast their position to their friends, or even to the world. Use a smart phone, iphone, mobile cpu, and more to broadcast your position. Using a simple web interface, users can be tracked. Using this service, you can let your friends see where you are at any given moment, or even track the location of your kids or a cheating spouse. The uses of Watch My GPS is endless and are growing each day. Explore the new and exciting world with us by broadcasting your global position.
GPS Collection
Global Positioning System devices collect information such as speed, bearing, lat, long, and more. They gather this information from sattelites circling the earth. Different GPS devices pinpoint their position based on different GPS satellites. Many cellular phone already come with GPS capability. When you dial 9-1-1 or an emergency service, the GPS in your phone is activated and lets authorities know your exact location. By downloading our Java program to your phone, you can harnes your built in GPS and broadcast it to the world. Many computers also have GPS capability with a GPS dongle or external unit. By using these devices, you can run our program and transmit your location to friends, family, and keep track of your loved ones.
Uploading the Data
Our program is currently in beta testing. It captures the GPS information from which ever device you run it on, and transmits it to our servers via cellular technology or wifi. Our servers will then perform calculations and present your location data for whoever you want to give access to. All this is done behind the scenes and you do not have to know any code or programming languages. You can then embed your map on websites, blogs, and more!

Watching your GPS
After your data is transmitted to our servers from your GPS, users can then login to the website and view your data. You can browse back in time too if you wish or search by location. You will be able to see the speed you were traveling as well. A bunch of neat stats can be derived from this data from your GPS.
